【What is Kintsugi?】
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by repairing the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Kintsugi is similar to the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, embracing the flawed or imperfect. Natsuka, the creator of engrace, has worked with kilns across Japan and reviving the soul of the broken plates into beautiful jewellery.

【Who is engrace?】
Natsuka is the designer at engrace in Osaka, Japan. The philosophy of engrace is reusing natural and traditional pottery and remaking it into jewellery. It will have new possibilities and values from the broken pieces. The fractured ceramics are usually considered unnecessary rubbish, but if we change the way how to see the object, the broken pieces would have so much potential to make anything. Her brand name of En(縁) means a loop, which means everything is connected in a relationship in Buddhism. Grace is minded flexibility.

Marunaka Japan works closely with engrace and support wabi-sabi philosophy and sustainability by introducing beautiful handmade jewellery.
