【What is Shirayuki Fukin?】
Nara has been a centre of thin textiles since ancient times.
The present owner's grandmother made kitchen cloths out of mosquito net rags for private use while manufacturing mosquito nets.
With many changes in fabrics and sewing techniques, they discovered that the cloths were high absorbent, and the stains were removed quickly.
Shirayuki has started to produce kitchen cloths since then.
Shirayuki means "Snow White" in Japanese.
The cloth remains as clean as snow white despite the long use.

The best parts of this kitchen cloth are that it is highly absorbent and removes dirt efficiently. Odour-resistant and always clean and fresh after washing.
The fine mesh fabric is carefully made in multiple layers, solid and durable. The cloth will be softer with each use, and you will love this quality soft touch.
The clothes are with beautiful patterns of Kyo-Yuzen dyed. Yuzen-sai Miyazaki created this technique in the 17 century, and this dyeing technique has been used in various Japanese textile production ever since.

Preferably handwash.
Avoid using a dryer due to shrinkage.
Shirayuki uses sweet potato starch from Kagoshima prefecture. Please wash in warm water (approx 40 degrees) by hand before the first use to remove the starch glue. Please change the water several times and rinse until the water comes out clean.
